Acceptable use policy

Effective: July 3, 2026 · Last updated: July 2026

These terms are effective and binding as of the date above. They are under ongoing legal review, and any material change will be announced per the changes section below. Questions: hello@joinquarry.com.

Why this policy exists

Quarry audits the public digital presence of brands you are authorized to represent. Because the underlying data is public, the thing that keeps Quarry from being misused as a competitor-surveillance tool is this policy plus the attestation you made when you requested access. We enforce it.

This policy supplements the Terms of Service. Breaching it is a material breach of those Terms.

The core rule: authority

You may onboard, audit, or measure a brand or location only if you own it, operate it, or are contractually engaged to represent it — for example, an agency serving its client, a franchisor measuring its franchisees, or a brokerage measuring its agents.

You may not:

  • Onboard a brand or locations you are not authorized to represent — including "test-driving" Quarry on someone else's brand.
  • Use Quarry for competitive surveillance — for example, importing a competitor's roster to profile their weaknesses, or building a teardown of a brand you have no authority over. (Your own reports legitimately show your locations' competitive position against nearby public competitor data; that is different from onboarding a competitor as if it were yours.)
  • Misrepresent your identity, role, or authority in an access request, in the product, or to us — including submitting a roster you are not entitled to submit.
  • Present a Quarry report as an official or authorized assessment of a brand you do not represent, or use reports to deceive, disparage, defame, or defraud.

When you requested access you attested to these commitments; the attestation text, version, timestamp, and IP address are retained as the record of that promise.

Platform integrity

You may not:

  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract the Service, its data, or its reports, whether by bots, scripts, or manual means beyond normal product use;
  • Circumvent or probe rate limits, scan allowances, authentication, tenant isolation, or any other access control;
  • Use automated means to create accounts or submit access requests;
  • Reverse-engineer the Service or use it (or its outputs) to build or train a competing product;
  • Resell, sublicense, or share access — including credential-sharing outside your organization or operating a service bureau for unrelated brands — without a written agreement with us;
  • Upload malicious code or interfere with the Service or other customers' use of it;
  • Probe or test our infrastructure for vulnerabilities, except good-faith security research reported to hello@joinquarry.com (subject "Security report") before public disclosure — we acknowledge within 5 business days.

Unauthorized access or exceeding authorized access may also violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, 18 U.S.C. § 1030, and equivalent state law; we reserve all remedies, civil and criminal referral included.

Lawful use

You may not use the Service to violate any law or third party's rights — including intellectual-property, privacy, and unfair-competition law — or to harass, defame, or threaten anyone.

What you can do (so there's no ambiguity)

  • Audit your own locations and the locations you're contractually authorized to manage;
  • Use reports for internal decisions, sales conversations, and stakeholder communications;
  • Share reports with the location owners they cover, your clients (if you're their authorized agency), and your internal teams;
  • Integrate report data with your internal systems where your plan includes it.

Enforcement

Depending on severity, we may warn, suspend, or terminate immediately without refund — and for authority violations (the core rule above) we default to immediate suspension while we investigate, because the harm runs to third parties, not just to us. We may delete associated data per the retention schedule, refuse re-registration, and report suspected unlawful activity to authorities. Remedies are cumulative with the Terms of Service, including the indemnity covering claims that arise from unauthorized onboarding of someone else's brand.

If you believe another Quarry user is violating this policy, email hello@joinquarry.comwith subject "AUP report." We investigate in good faith and treat reports confidentially.

Changes

We may update this policy as abuse patterns evolve. Material changes: 30 days' email notice to active customers. The version in force at acceptance is captured by your attestation record; continued use after an update's effective date is acceptance of the update.
